Halloween 2011

02 November 2011

Fall is my absolute favorite season, I look forward to all of the fun holiday activities. With trying to paint the exterior of our home spur of the moment over a couple of weekends, Halloween took a back seat :(

Although we didn't make it to the pumpkin patch this year, we did still decorate a pumpkin. And thanks to Gra we didn't even have to get our fingers dirty! Caleb was able to do most of the pumpkin himself, and enjoys playing Mr. Potato Head with the parts. We are now missing one of Woody's arms in our yard.

We have been talking about Halloween for quite some time, and asked Caleb what he wanted to be. Of course he chose Woody. I decided to be ambitious and make his costume this year. Thank goodness I started it a month in advance! Only glitch was that we didn't try on the hat until the day of, and of course it didn't fit. After trying to quickly find a replacement with no luck, we used the one we purchased. Although it is a little to small, we can make it work for a few minutes at a time.

The first time someone called him by Woody he was so confused. Then he looked at himself, said "I'm Woody" and was so proud. He now tells everyone that he's Woody ;)

It was so funny watching him learn how Trick or Treating works. When I made his bag, he would want to go right then! By the time Halloween actually rolled around he was so excited by the build up. The first house we went to had a basket out front, so that was pretty easy. The next house though, well he walked inside the second they opened the door! We had to remind him from then on to NOT go into the homes. If allowed he would just try to take handfuls. So we tried the counting thing, but no one would let him put any back so the little man won again.
